Knowledge Center/FAQHow should I store my pecans? Please, please remember that pecans are produce...a perishable item. You wouldn't set a head of lettuce on the counter for several days, and you shouldn't leave pecans setting out in room temp either. Shelled pecans can turn rancid if not refrigerated and whole pecans will loose their quality over time if not kept cool. Keep your shelled pecans in the freezer in plastic freezer bags or storage containers. You can use pecans frozen or can re-freeze them without damaging quality. Whole pecans should at least be stored in a cool, dark area such as under your kitchen counter. We suggest you freeze them to maintain their quality. |
